All Mixed Up

Our new Mixed Metal Collection  is now available online.  We are loving the way it so wearable and it seems to go with everything.  No worries about matching your watch or wedding ring.  Just be free and mix it up!  We are using mostly brass that has an antique gold or silver finish that will not patina or tarnish.  How great, no more polishing, AND it's more affordable than sterling or real gold.
Layering is a big part of this collection. We've made many long necklaces in varying lengths so they can be worn together. There's even a Three Tiered Necklace that has the layers built in!

And the earrings!  They are so light, and range in price from $26-$44.   The Fringy Chain Earrings come in two sizes, and they all feature a combo of gold, silver and copper tones.  Sterling or 14kt gold ear wires are used for all earrings.
Yes, there are bracelets too.  I love our new Charm Bracelet that has a great mix of charms, so fun!  The Feather Bracelet is light and feels so good on, it is balanced with a sterling silver hammered circle and can also be ordered in gold.

But wait, there's a special blog-reader-bonus, enjoy a free Fall Gift Box with any purchase in the Mixed Metal Collection.  Just mention the blog in the gift message section at checkout.  Now go shopping and enjoy!

Howl O'Ween

Tomorrow night is the big Howl O'Ween in Leucadia.  The community comes together and parades their pets down coast highway, and of course there is a costume contest involved...

What should Lily dress up as?

If you have a pet to parade, come out and join the fun from 5 - 8 pm! Each pet costs 5 dollars to enter, and all the money will be donated to the Rancho Coastal Humane Society.

Bathed in Rain

I love autumn air, especially after a good rain.  A recent walk around La Jolla found me in this outdoor old book store, next to a coffee shop!  One of my favorite things.
I'm wearing a few pieces from our new Mixed Metal Collection.  We've combined gold and silver tones for easy, casual wear.
I really enjoyed looking through the old books... but I wasn't the only one having a good time!  This little bird was taking a nice bath in the leftover rain.

San Francisco Speaks to Me

This is my best friend Jane, we've known each other almost 25 years.

When I visit her flat in the Mission District of San Francisco I feel.... different.  Free and artful, and I see things in a new way.  There is so much to look at, to hear, to smell, to just take in.

Here is the view from her bedroom looking into the red kitchen. See how she displays all her flower accessorries on that ribbon?

A recent painting bought in a junk store was my favorite new addition to her living room.

When she decided to have a jewelry party I was so excited to display it all in her cool house.  She happened to have this branch just hanging out, so we used it for the ribbons.

But the best part was just getting to hang out in the city with my best friend. We walked or biked everywhere, which is the best way to experience San Francisco.

This is a new sculpture at the civic center called Three Heads, Six Arms and was created by Chinese artist Zhang Huan to reflect a traditional Buddhist sculpture.

Gotta love SF, but it's always good to come home, too.

Low Tide Ride

The perfect date with my husband, after 25 years we still love a good bike ride on the beach.

Have you ever seen a green flash?  On this low tide ride we certainly did!

Barn Owl Bliss

I'm sure most of you know who Molly the barn own is.  But if you don't, she's quite magnificent. Molly and her family reside in San Marcos and are on live streaming video 24/7 where you can learn all about their lifestyle.

Molly fans from all over the country are coming together this Sunday, 10-17-2010 for a Molly Watchers Picnic.

For just $1 people can gather at Walnut Grove Park in San Marcos and bring their own food and drink into the park! There will be a silent auction as well as a raffle, and all the money made will go to the San Marcos Community Foundation for Wildlife Conservation and Promotion.
We've decided to donate a necklace and a special pair of owl earrings, using the owl's birthstone color for August, the peridot.

It's all for a good cause, so if you're free this Sunday, go check it out between 2p and 5p.
Also! If you want to win a free pair for yourself, just like us on facebook and write on our wall why you love owls!  You will be entered in a drawing for your very own earrings.

Back Alley Sally

Tuesday, October 19th
It's a Luv Thing
466 N Highway 101 LeucadiaCA 92024

One of our favorite boutiques is having LilyGirl over for a Back Alley Sally day. The parking lot is closed for resurfacing, so just go around back and come in through the gate.

Enjoy wine and wire crafting with us, and I can help you create something meaningful and unique.  It's a great time to get started on holiday gifts such as ornaments or wire wrapped objects like shells or stones.  Bring some of your favorite found objects and let's see what we can create!

Mercato Moment: Katara's Necklace

I'm always learning something new at the Little Italy Mercato.  Do you know who Katara is?

Last Saturday this little girl named Sofia said, "Look mom! She's wearing a Katara necklace." Curiosity got the better of me and I had to ask who Katara was. Here is what I found out-

So as you can see, Katara's necklace does look suspiciously like the pendant and blue ribbon I had around my neck!

To see more of Katara and her necklace, you can find her on Nickelodeon.
