An Inside Look-Summer Photo Shoot

The Bohemian Collection debuted in May exclusively at It's a Luv Thing.  We're launching the beautiful line online in mid July, and couldn't think of a better place to do our summer photo shoot than the back garden at the Leucadia boutique where it all started.

The trio of talent involved Elise of, her sister Lauren, and friend Erica, while It's a Luv Thing's owner Kamie and I styled the girls with current beach bohemian trends.

It was three hours of pure entertainment, including some good laughs courtesy of the models.

And most importantly, we got some amazing shots.  Can't wait to share the new collection with everyone!

Mercato Moments: Style

Style:ˈstī(-ə)l A distinct manner of expressing something in language, art, fashion, or music, that is characteristic of a particular person, group of people, or period of time.

Summer:ˈsə-mər:  Summer is the warmest of the four temperate seasons, it is marked by the longest days and shortest nights.

Last Saturday, the Mercato was full of summer style.

Hip hats on hip girls!  It always seems to take a confident woman to wear a hat...

Messy bun cuteness and a fresh angle cut.

Bohemian blouse and shoulder bag.  Being comfortable is the essence of summer style!

Head to toe style (pup included of course!)

4 Things to do in Fallbrook

Thinking of coming out for our Studio Junque & Jewelry Sale but not convinced? We've put together a few other fun things for you to do in Fallbrook.  Come on out and make a day of it!

1. Diane's Herbs
3642 S. Mission Rd.
Stop by this magical shop located right off the road that heads into Fallbrook.  The big deal here is lavender, but she has tons of sages, mints, and other fancy herbs to your liking.  We love the homemade soaps, lotions, and aromatherapy too.

3137 S. Mission Rd.
Tons of shabbied-out chicness, chandeliers, furniture, and some really awesome finds. We love this quote the owner uses to describe how unique your own treasures can be:
"Many of us have these time worn treasures in our homes, often with no one but us knowing their stories."

3.  Cafe Des Artistes
103 S. Main Street
This is a visually exciting Mediterranean restaurant located downtown Fallbrook.  The Italian New York native who opened this restaurant made the historic soda fountain in a super trendy hot spot. It's located behind an art gallery, which leads us to our next destination...

4. Fallbrook Art and Cultural Center
103 South Main St.
Right now there are two exhibitions going on at the art center until June 27th.  The 13th annual Galaxy of Glass is one beautiful showing!  Also on display is some amazing digital photography by Louis Nidorf and Robert Sommers.

Let us know if you need any advice on your Fallbrook adventure!

Congratulations Marie Kinnaman

You are the winner of a Hammered Pendant or a pair of Interchangeable Earrings!  Go online, check out the selection, and place your order.  We'll be looking for it and be in touch...yay!  Thanks for playing.

Meeting for Coffee

My favorite coffee spot is Pannikin.  My friend Dominique (she's kinda shy) met me here Friday for a cup and a chat!   It just so happens that LilyGirl Jewelry is nicely positioned next door to both Pannikins in North County.  One near the Pangea in Del Mar and the other near It's a Luv Thing on Coast Highway 101 in Leucadia.

So I stopped by It's a Luv Thing on my way home and snapped some shots...

Next time you're around a Pannikin, treat yourself to a coffee break and you'll know why I love it so much.

Mercato Moment

Every Saturday, I set up a table full of jewelry in front of this old downtown San Diego's Little Italy.  It's called the Mercato!  And every Saturday I meet someone special.

This week, I met two women who were in town to participate in the Rock n Roll Marathon.  They stopped-looked-touched-adored and finally fell in love...I was especially touched as the pieces my new friend Denise picked are from our new "earthy elements" collection.
The girls came back after circling the market to tell me something.  "Your jewelry was clearly made with love and passion and we just wanted to let you know...the energy is so positive!"   It touched my heart...thank you for recognizing that we love what we do!

The 5 necklaces pictured below have all been sold!  Should we make another round?

And they call this "work"

Listening to Joni Mitchell is by far my deepest inspiration.

I listen to music when I work in my studio where it serves as my motivator. I'm sure what I listen to affects what designs I choose to create. That's pretty cool, I think.

I love to design jewelry to mellow music, however when I am in production mode I need the Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Jethro Tull and a host of other classic artists to set the tempo, make me dance and sing (oh yes, out loud) and help me appreciate the special world in my studio.

Some Grad Inspiration

It's that time of year... graduation!

We've developed a new line of grad gifts perfect for those who've made you proud.  They come boxed with their own quotes such as "Reach for your dreams, grow wings, and be free... believe and achieve".

We've also put our Celebration Series online for the very first time. They've always been a customer favorite, and we thought it only made sense to offer them up on our website.  Our inspiration for these were a desire for something basic and everyday, yet a circle can mean so much.  It can mean something different for everyone, and if you give it as a gift, it is said to hold positive energy.

These are a little edgier, but something even a girl who's picky about jewelry can connect with and wear with anything, anytime.  They are classy and never go out of style.

Congratulations to all those grads out there!
