Girl in the Curl

So stoked that LilyGirl Jewelry is now available at Girl in the Curl in Dana Point.
We took a little road trip up there last week and Mary decided Mom's crocheted wrist wraps would be called, "Mermaid Sparkle Wraps" in her store!  Of course!  I love it.
The store offers a retro Hawaiian vibe and a girlie girl merchandise mix.  Mary grew up surfing the shores of California living the surf lifestyle and has been offering quality surfing instruction for 21+years.  Her all-girl surf camps were the first of their kind back in 1987 and still fill up each season.
I love you Mary and your aloha spirit is still with me today!

DIY: Grateful Tree

Thanks to Sarah, another Divine Spirit inspired project we love!
She used pre-made labels and reinforcements for hole-punched paper, a little paint, a little glue and a lot of heart.  You could also create your own labels by cutting card stock, attach with yarn, hemp, or ribbon.  Type up or write out "I am grateful for..." and glue it on!  We put them in a little dish next to the tree and asked our guests to fill out and hang up.  I think this would be the coolest center piece for Thanksgiving dinner!

Spirit Altars

In honor of Dia de los Muertos, we used the photos from our recent Divine Spirit Friday art-shoot to create these decorative altars from cigar boxes. Although we are not technically dead, we just used the spirit of this holiday to have some art play together and to get the glitter out!  The Day of the Dead ritual embraces death and celebrates friends and family who have deceased by creating altars in their homes, offering flowers and candles and decorating their grave sites.  Dia de los Muertos coincides with All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day, November 1st and 2nd and is celebrated throughout Mexico.
